Reminders: Soft Entry begins at 7:50 am. Students should arrive at or shortly after 7:50. We would like all students to try to be inside the school by 7:55, please. The 7:58 bell means ‘start learning in your classroom’, not ‘enter the school now’. Here are some notable activities from the week: During writing, we were learning how to create a complete sentence. We learned that a sentence needs 4 main things; Capital Letter at the beginning, a complete idea, finger spaces between each word and punctuation. Reminders: Jan. 20th: Library Day Jan. 27th: Spirit Day - Dress like your favourite book character Remember to dress for the weather. We go outside every day for recess, lunch recess and gym. In ELA this week we were learning about editing. We are using the "Find it, Fix it," strategy. We created symbols to mark on our pages where we need to fix capitals, punctuation, and spelling. Then we practiced "finding and fixing" with our writing we did last week, making sure we "fix it" using a coloured pencil so that we can show how we are improving with our editing. This week we also started planning for writing about a personal experience we have had. Next week will begin writing and learning about how to add descriptive words to make it more interesting. October 13th Reminders, Letters, and sight words
Reminders: Wednesday, October 14th (TOMORROW) Picture Day Homework coming home. Please check your child's backpack for a sheet to help them fill out about their name. Please dress for the weather. We go outside everyday for recess, after lunch and for gym. Please make sure your child has a hat, mitts, and proper footwear for the weather. It's also time to start thinking about making sure your child has a pair of indoor shoes that they can leave here before the weather turns cold and mucky outside.
