  Reminders Jan. 29th:  PD Day ~ No School Feb. 1st:  Please return home reading books.  There are a lot of books that have not been returned in a couple of weeks. Feb. 5th:  Report Cards will be online  * Report cards will not be sent home this year due to COIVD, but you will be able to access them on Feb. 5th through Powerschool.  Please make sure you have your Powerschool account set up so that you can view your child's report card online.  If you have not yet set up your My Powerschool Account, please call Ms. Boyce in the office and she will help you get it set up.  Feb. 11-13:  Teachers' Convention ~ NO SCHOOL Feb. 16th:  Family Day ~ NO SCHOOL Remember to dress for the weather.  We go outside every day for recess, lunch recess and gym. Week of Jan. 25-29th

   Reminders: Jan. 27th:  Library Day Jan. 27th:  Spirit Day - Dress like your favourite book character  Jan. 28th:  Return Home Reading Jan. 29th:  PD Day ~ No School Remember to dress for the weather.  We go outside every day for recess, lunch recess and gym. This week in ELA we will be focusing on adding descriptive details to our writing by using our five senses.  We are also working on our editing goal of "Find it & FIx it." Students have to check their work for capitals and punctuation in the right places.  They also have to check for spelling of their "No Excuse" sight words. Later this week we will post in IRIS a sample of their work with their editing checklist. Here are the words for this week that students should be able to read and write. Students are practicing using their words in a sentence as well. Red Group:  love, do, saw, you, away Blue Group: table, apple, one, were, are Purple Group: slow, know, eat, treat wheat

  Reminders: Jan. 20th:  Library Day Jan. 27th:  Spirit Day - Dress like your favourite book character  Remember to dress for the weather.  We go outside every day for recess, lunch recess and gym. In ELA this week we were learning about editing.  We are using the "Find it, Fix it," strategy. We created symbols to mark on our pages where we need to fix capitals, punctuation, and spelling. Then we practiced "finding and fixing" with our writing we did last week, making sure we "fix it" using a coloured pencil so that we can show how we are improving with our editing.  This week we also started planning for writing about a personal experience we have had.  Next week will begin writing and learning about how to add descriptive words to make it more interesting.    We learned our last three graphemes this week.  "ci" "si", and "ough",  make sure to ask me what sounds these graphemes make!  If you need a reminder or want to practic

It was nice to see everyone for our week of online learning.  We had fun learning in a different way. I look forward to seeing everyone's faces in person on  Tuesday. In ELA this week we wrote about our favourite or least favourite things about winter, the break and how we feel about coming back to school.  Students also had the chance to create the words for some picture books that have no words.   We also learned more graphemes this week.  "ph" "dge", "oe", "tch" and "ti". make sure to ask me what sounds these graphemes make!  If you need a reminder or want to practice, check out the video in our Google Classroom.                In Math this week, we were practicing our additio
