It's finally June. In a few weeks, we will have a 2 month vacation! We have had a busy week this week. In ELA we have been working on writing about, "What would I do if I could stay up all night?" We practiced adding lots of details to our sentences. Students have continues to practice doing our "Find it & Fix it" strategy for editing. In Math we have reviewing measuring, specifically mass and calendar. Students have engaged in centres and problem solving tasks about calendar and mass. For our inquiry project we have been finishing our comic strip about the animal and its community. Students included how we can learn from the animals and care for the land. We shared how we can help the animals so that they can be around for a long time. We also watch a series of videos about the Seven Sacred Laws. Dear Grade 1 & 2 Families, Welcome to the 2020-2021 Cambrian Heights School Community! We are looking forward to seeing you on September 1 for the first day of school! My name is Mrs. Andrews and I am one of the teachers on your child’s teaching team. I will be your child’s classroom responsibility teacher to begin the school year. Sometimes the children are too busy playing in gym or at recess, and by the time they realize they need to go to the bathroom, it's too late. Next week your child will bring home 1 library book and a bag of home reading books. Please keep the home reading books at home all week and have your child practice reading their books several times. This allows them to practice fluency and expression.
